Aloha and Maholo

Alright, most of you know that Calvin and I went on a Hawaiian Cruise last week, and to sum up the trip, I am going to steal an idea from my friend DJ and do a numbers blog....

10: Days away from our kids...longest ever, and I must say, I was fine but really did miss them by the end of the week.

1: Number of FULL tubes of sunscreen we went through.

5: Number of different Hawaiian Starbucks we went to.

2: Times that we went snorkelling....for those of you who know Calvin, swimming is not his 'forte' but swimming in salt water is SO much easier and he actually loved it..it was also beautiful beyond compare.

3: shopping trips to various Wal-Marts....the best place to buy Hawaiian gifts made in the Phillippines!

1: how many live volcanos with steam vents that we saw

30: number of Humpback whales we saw (it's mating season from December - April in the warm waters off the Hawaiian coast).

12: how many Dolphins we saw jumping around!

6: times we saw Sea Turtles

1: lonely octopus (we saw while snorkelling)

3: number of times that Calvin and I went on the treadmill on the ship, most people thought we wouldn't, I actually had someone laugh at me when I told them we were going to try and excersise.....they must not know me that well!!!! (Make it a challenge and I'll do it for sure....)

14: Daquari's Michelle drank

14: Glasses of red wine Calvin drank

16: number of Canadian we met on the boat.

5: how often we went to the hot tub.

4: how many times Calvin ate eggs benedict for breakfast.

3: how many pounds Calvin gained on the cruise.

2: how many pounds I gained on the cruise (of course, add that to the 6 I gained at Christmas...well, you do the math)

13: letters in the Hawaiian alphabet

14: number of hours on the plane.

2: hours time difference from BC to Hawaii

5: days we slept past 8:30 am (which for parents is a BIG deal!)

4: days we spent on the white sand beaches.

12: times we went into the pool on the boat.

COUNTLESS: times some random American said the following to us "HEY...you're from CANADA EH? Get it?? EH??? HAR HAR..." (Yeah, I've never heard that before)

6: number of times Calvin got asked if he really liked the Maple Leafs! (I can see why....really, 2nd from the bottom of the entire NHL!)

21: letters in the longest word in the Hawaiian language Humuhumunukunukuapua`a -which is the state fish there....not to mention, that a 21 letter word is impressive when you only have 12 letters to work with!

4: Islands visited

Calvin and I had an amazing time, we are going to go back with the kids next Spring Break (2009), we can't wait!
